About this event

We will begin our efforts to construct & install 700 ft. of bog bridges on the Iron Mine Brook & Chapman's Landing trail system. This property is located at the end of Indian Head Drive, in Hanover. We'll be carrying the heavy bog boards out to marked locations on the trail system (in teams) for installation. Please be prepared to carry heavy weight on uneven ground. After the recent Nor'easter there maybe some trail cleanup as well. Please bring gloves, safety glasses, a drill if you have one, loppers, handsaw, water, and snacks. Please also wear long pants and closed-toed, sturdy shoes. This project is weather dependent, so please check your email periodically before the date. If you have any questions please contact Erik Boyer at: EBoyer@wildlandstrust.org. Thank you for your interest in helping!

In 2017, a group of landholding entities—the Pembroke, Hanover, and Hanson Conservation Commissions, Plymouth County, North and South River Watershed Association, and Wildlands Trust—formed the Indian Head River Trail Coalition (IHRTC) to preserve the historic and natural qualities of the Indian Head River and its surrounding lands, while also encouraging passive recreation in and around the river.
