Irish Flute Workshop (Intermediate/Advanced)

Founded in 2025, our purpose is to preserve, promote and pass on the living traditions of Irish music, dance, language, storytelling and the broader arts across Greater Boston. Our principal event is Tunes on the Charles, held at the end of April each year. We serve as a cultural bridge--connecting local communities to global Irish arts networks. Through education, performance, archival collaboration, and artistic exchange we nurture an inclusive and intergenerational space where heritage and innovation thrive together within the tradition. We aim to build not only a platform for cultural celebration but also a lasting network of relationships that strengthen Irish identity, creativity, and community across the diaspora.

<p>A focused workshop in Irish traditional flute with one of the tradition's most thoughtful and exciting young voices. Their music is strongly influenced by the North Connacht flute tradition, and he has taught at festivals including the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. Drawing on deep archival research and a keen ear for regional style, they will guide participants through tone, phrasing, and the subtle elements that bring the music to life. Best suited for intermediate to advanced flute players. Bring your flute.</p>
