Irish Dance Performance Workshop

Come join us for an exciting Irish Dance Performance Workshop at COCA — Center of Creative Arts!

All Irish Dancers ages 12+ and of hard-shoe level are welcome.

Meet Your Hosts

Samantha Felling, from St. Louis, MO, and Oli Gething, from Winchester, England, have toured across 25+ countries over the past four years with some of the world's most prestigous Irish Dance productions: Riverdance, Rhythm of The Dance, Celtic Illusion, and The American Company of Irish Dance, among others. Together, they bring a wealth of experience, including roles as troupe dancers, principal leads, and dance captain. They're back home in St. Louis for the week, performing at The Fabulous Fox Theatre with Riverdance (May 2-4), and they're excited to share their professional experience with local dancers!

Our Why

We have created this Irish dance performance workshop to provide local dancers with opportunities that are often scarce in the U.S. as an Irish Dancer. Performance is a critical aspect of becoming a well-rounded dancer, yet many Irish dancers only get to showcase their skills in competition settings. This workshop offers a space to learn about the show-world, explore performance-based choreography, express creativity, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

The world of Irish dance is evolving, with more opportunities than ever to pursue a professional career beyond competition. Whether dancers dream of joining a touring show, choreographing their own pieces, or simply refining their stage presence, this workshop is designed to provide dancers with an opportunity to explore Irish Dancing outside of competition. By learning choreography from well-known productions and developing their own unique style, dancers will gain valuable insight into the Irish dance show industry and the incredible possibilities within it. Most importantly, this workshop will be a place to ignite passion for Irish dance, providing an inspiring environment for local dancers to come together to grow as artists and performers.

This is a space to ask all your tour and professional dance questions, put yourself out of your comfort zone, grow as a performer (you don’t know what you’re capable of until you try!) and have some FUN being creative. We hope to inspire the next generation of professional Irish Dancers.

This event is not affiliated with CLRG, any dance school, or professional production. We will not be instructing on competition dancing.

We require a waiver to be completed prior to the workshop for all dancers under 18 years old. The waiver will be sent to the email you register your dancer with.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch if they choose.
