Every startup should protect their Intellectual Property (IP) as means to protect their developing products and/or concepts, but often do not know where to start. Join us as we explore different IP agreements your startup should consider. Baker Botts' attorneys will discuss key types of IP agreements including: <ul><li>Employment agreements with employees and/or contractors</li><li>IP license agreements (including customer license agreements and cross-licenses)</li><li>Corporate collaborations (including joint ventures and joint development agreements)</li></ul>

About the Speakers <a href="https://www.bakerbotts.com/people/g/gonzales-natalie-alfaro#0" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Natalie Alfaro Gonzales</a>, Partner, practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent litigation, patent prosecution and licensing. Ms. Gonzales works on patent litigation matters involving a variety of technologies, including mechanical and electrical devices and computer systems. Her litigation experience also includes copyright infringement and Lanham Act actions. Ms. Gonzales practices before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, preparing and prosecuting patent applications involving an equally wide array of technologies. In addition, Ms. Gonzales advises clients on IP-related aspects of corporate transactions and license agreements.<a href="https://www.bakerbotts.com/people/s/silliman-michael-a" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Michael Silliman</a>, Associate, practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent prosecution, litigation, adversarial proceedings at the USPTO (including inter partes review), counseling and licensing. Mr. Silliman has experience drafting and prosecuting patents involving a variety of chemical, mechanical, and electrical fields, including technology pertaining to drilling, well stimulation, and cementing technologies. Mr. Silliman works on patent litigation matters involving a variety of technologies, including computer systems and electrical devices. In addition, Mr. Silliman advises clients on IP-related aspects of corporate transactions and license agreements.
