Kelvin Daly A tapestry of song &amp; improvisation. Oneiric foldings and refoldings of impossible musical instruments into the poetics that secretly inhabit both seen and unseen realities, often with music involved, not that this matters so much. One human, many unusual handmade instruments, if lucky a few passing ghosts or fae. He has been building and performing on his homemade musical instruments for 25 years, with work ranging from free improvisation through songs, spoken word, storytelling, and musical poetry performance, including also performance art, dance and theatre, as well as the occasional purely visual piece or extensive costume and mask making for performances. Central to his work is re-invention of mythology, ritual, and magic in ways that are simultaneously fully modern and as archaic as the stone age. Keiko UenishiCDL - Episode &quot;Guided by the ears&quot;I am obsessed with questioning the definitions of space through aural perceptions. Many of my works are to research through the broad idea of the aural space.CDL is an experiential/phenomenological sound-performance/installation/method for redefining a space utilizing audio-feedback. Aesthetic aspects (e.g. the material used for walls, ceiling, floors, columns, furniture, people) serve as influential components. CDL also surfaces layers of “rooms” inside the “room.” Any hollow-shaped elements (e.g. air-ducts, glasses, bottles, tubes, pipes, bottles, cups...) inside of the whole physical room, would emerge as smaller “rooms.” The temporary structure as a whole, becomes my instrument (that functions as the feedback chamber) for CDL.On the rooftop of where Synesthesia is located, I will search for places and spots with in/out of the vastly open space with objects I discovered in/out of the location. The act will be guided by the ears (of mine + of yours).As CDL is a highly experiential/phenomenological work, it is not recommended to check video or audio file(s) if you have a chance to attend one. Geoff Matters works with sound and light. You may have run into him shredding with his electronic punk band, projecting decorations around galleries and parties, experimenting his way through a dance performance soundtrack, or plugging you in at your local jam session.
