About this event

Together, the Ford Foundation, the Educational Foundation of America, and Confluence Philanthropy invite you to join us on Friday, June 24th from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 pm ET at the Ford Center for Social Justice in New York City for breakfast and a strategy discussion on the next phase of corporate engagement on reproductive health and rights.

With the overturning of Roe v. Wade an all but foregone conclusion, pro-choice advocates are recalibrating for the long-term effort to restore access to abortion and to expand access to affordable reproductive and maternity care. How corporations handle access to reproductive health care in the years ahead is enormously important: employer-controlled group health insurance is the source of health care benefits to over half of all Americans.

Wearing our "asset owner" hats, foundations and other institutional investors have been engaging with numerous public companies, through dialogue and the filing of shareholder proposals, for several years in a campaign coordinated by Rhia Ventures. The goals of this work are to drive concrete changes in corporate insurance and benefits policies, their public policy positions, and their political spending.

This session is designed for institutional investors (foundations, family offices, endowments, universities, pension funds, and more), high net worth investors, and asset managers. It will begin with a level-setting introduction to this work, a conversation about where it's headed, and a clear exposition of tools available and possible next steps for your organization becoming involved in this campaign in a variety of ways.

Zoom participation is also an option - click here to register if you would prefer to attend via zoom.
