Overview

Implements the principles that pertain to digital forensics to merge traditional techniques with the current elements of digital forensics.

This course engages officers and investigators in the practical application of digital forensics principles, focusing on how to effectively integrate traditional investigative techniques with today’s digital evidence environment.

Participants will examine how conventional investigative tactics intersect with digital evidence commonly encountered in modern cases. Discussion will focus on adapting investigative approaches to include digital footprints generated through everyday technology, online activity, and connected devices. Emphasis is placed on legally sound, defensible methods that support both current and emerging investigative practices.

Real-world investigative considerations are used throughout to demonstrate how digital elements can strengthen cases rather than replace traditional methods.
