Introductory Karate Workshop

Come learn the fundamentals of traditional Okinawan karate at our Introductory Karate Workshop on Sunday June 1st at 9:00 am.

<p>Join us for an introductory karate workshop taught by William Schlesinger, 3rd dan in Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate-Do. Beginners and experienced martial arts practitioners alike will enjoy a nice fitness workout, learn some self-defense basics, and learn about the history and philosophy of traditional Okinawan karate. Age 16+, $40 fee (via cash, Venmo, or ticket purchase on Eventbrite). Wear comfortable loose-fitting clothes and bring plenty of water. · Cultivate your mind and body and overcome self-limitation · Polish your human spirit through hard work and effort · Develop courtesy, self-discipline, self-confidence, and your own creativity · Understand the principle of yin and yang and how to apply it to your movements · Transform negative emotions into positive virtues through constructive exercise · Strengthen all 12 qi meridians to develop agility, balance, coordination, flexibility, and a centered mind</p>
