Description:
     Being able to understand and use version control is a critical part of being a software developer. Version control allows you (and your team) to collaborate, track, and revert changes to your code, documentation, and samples. One very popular version control is Git. In this talk we will cover the basics of using Git, show how to publish and share your code through the GitHub, and how to contribute to an open source project using Git and Github. You will walk away from this talk ready to use Git and Github to manage all of your code assets and know how to contribute to open source projects. 
     If you want to follow along with the examples, bring your laptop with install the Git command line from <A HREF="https://git-scm.com/download/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://git-scm.com/download/</A> and have a Github account created at <A HREF="https://github.com" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://github.com</A> if you do not already have one.

About the Speaker:
     Justin loves to share his passion and knowledge of software development with other developers to help them grow in their careers. He has been programming and designing web applications for over 20 years. Justin frequently speaks at conferences, meetups and community events. He also blogs regularly about web and mobile development at <A HREF="http://digitaldrummerj.me" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://digitaldrummerj.me</A>.
     In his free time, Justin is one of the organizers for the Arizona Give Camp helping to put on hackathons for developers to code it forward to help Non-Profits with their IT needs. Justin also organizes the Ionic Arizona and Phoenix Version Control meetups.
