Explore a fresh approach to long-form improv in this two-hour introduction to Catalyst, a form built on fluid transitions and inspired connections. In Catalyst, there are no sweep edits. Scenes transition organically through walk-ons, tap-outs, cut-tos, and other devices. Instead of breaking the flow, players follow sparks of inspiration to discover where the show wants to go. Learn how to let scenes morph, echo, and evolve without needing a hard edit. Unlock a more intuitive, cinematic style of improv. Catalyst offers a playful, collaborative way to connect scenes and spark story. Perfect for improvisers ready to let go of structure and lean into discovery.
Daytime workshops at the Big Couch Binge offer something for improvisers of all levels—from those just starting out to seasoned performers looking to deepen their skills. This particular workshop does require intermediate improv knowledge, especially experience using devices.
And, don't forget about our multi-workshop passes that provide a discount when taking more than one workshop on either day. See our full event page for workshop bundles.
