Location and Time: Linn Studio, Saturday July 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

Price: $35 members, $45 non-members

All levels are welcome. 

For ages 10 through 18. 

Partial Materials included. Smartphone not included.


Overview:

Join Nick Anderson as he introduces you to the cinematic art of Stop Motion! Dive into this exciting workshop for youth, with a fun practice in stop motion techniques and creative storytelling through stationary figures and your smartphone.


In this workshop, participants will:

● Learn the fundamentals of Stop Motion animation art. 

● Create visual backgrounds using colored pencils, markers, or crayons. 

● Tell creative stories about stationary objects.


Materials List:

1. Smartphone with capability to download “Stop Motion Studio” app 

2. Colored Pencils* 

3. Markers* 

4. Crayons* 

Optional List: 

● Action Figures or other small toys that can stand still, that do not roll around - Ideally your action figure or other small toy should be at the most 3x the size of the average lego mini figure (approximately 5” tall). 

* Colored pencils, markers, and crayons will be provided.


Artist’s Biography:

Nick is a post-production instructor with a background in digital media, and has experience in educating groups in  post-production techniques, digital editing, animation, social media marketing, and film history. He has taught at organizations such as Options for All and the Augustian Academy, and does freelance work on the side. Nick has always had a passion for film and storytelling, and is excited to share the passion with you through the art of stop motion animation.
