The MPO and the Smith Master Student Association (SMSA) have partnered to offer an Introduction to Python Workshop led by Ravi Pandey. This workshop is only open to current Smith School students, and seats are limited.Are you interested in learning tips and tricks of practical data science, but not sure where to start? This Introduction to Python workshop is for you!In this three-hour online workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of Python from installing the tools to loading, cleaning and saving your data back. You will gain all the necessary skills to start programming and use Python to excel in your classes and career.Takeaways Learn fundamental Python programming techniques and tools. Learn Python Basics to gain the confidence to build larger and more complex programs Learn to use Dictionaries, Lists, Tuples and Sets Learn to write your first function in Python Learn to load your data, manipulate &amp; clean, and save the cleaned data back. Learn to build bar chart, histogram, pie chart, boxplot and scatter plot with single line of codePrerequisite &amp; Preparation This class is taken completely online, and requires a computer and a strong internet connection. We will provide a zoom link before the start of the workshop Windows user will need Microsoft Windows 8/10. MAC users will need Mac OS 10+ We will go through the installation guide in the workshop. Course Content Introduction to Python Basics Variable Declaration Data Types – Numeric, String, Dictionaries, Lists, Tuples and Sets If-Else statements Loops Writing your own function Loading Data Data Subset (Filter)This workshop is subject to cancellation due to low registration.
