About this event

You will produce at least one, but most likely between 2-3 sterling silver, brass or gold (for an additional fee) stacking rings to wear home. During this experience you'll learn about the tools and equipment and then how to size, form, saw, solder, shape, hammer (texturize) and polish sterling silver using tools such as a caliper, jewelers saw, files, multiple hammers, a butane torch and a flex shaft among others.

First, we measure your finger and determine the length of sterling silver wire we'll need to use. You'll then saw the wire, form and prepare it for soldering, seal the joint with a torch, shape it into a perfect fitting ring with a hammer and mandrel and file and polish until it's ready to wear. We will do this as many times as possible and in various sizes and types of metal wire of your choice - time permitting.

I will teach you how to use and care for the tools and materials as well as the various possibilities with your new skills and how you can set up your very own jewelry studio after falling in love with your new skill set.

Other things to note:

I limit this to 3 people, as we'll be in my home studio, so it's very possible you'll have a private lesson for yourself or you and your crafting accomplice(s) and/or maybe a new friend ! Please remember closed toe shoes and something to tie your (if long) hair back. All materials and equipment will be provided otherwise. I live with my sweet and chill chihuahua, Dinky, in case you are allergic to dogs!

Eventbrite doesn't allow for reviews, but I've been hosting this experience via Airbnb as well and you can see reviews here - https://www.airbnb.com/experiences/761622

Organized by

I've been making jewelry out of silver and brass for the last 15 years after completing several years of metalsmithing classes at the School of Visual Arts in New York City as well as time at Precious Metal Arts in Santa Monica. I've been selling my jewelry on Etsy as well as a few boutiques in Los Angeles since I moved here in 2013.

Teaching the art of jewelry making out of my home studio has been an absolute joy. I've met incredible people from all over the world and have been able to share the magic of metalsmithing.

If you would like to book either class, but don't see an available time that fits your schedule please send me a message to see if we can figure one out. Thank you!
