Ready to swap that mass-produced belt for something that will last a lifetime? Join us for a hands-on immersion into the world of traditional leatherworking.

In this workshop, you won’t just "learn"—you’ll make. Under expert guidance, you will transform premium full-grain water buffalo hide and solid brass hardware into a custom-fitted belt tailored specifically to you.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Leather Basics: Understanding different hides and grains.
  • Sizing & Cutting: How to properly measure and cut a belt blank for the perfect fit.
  • Edge Finishing: The art of burnishing for a professional, smooth finish.
  • Assembly: Working with solid brass buckles and Chicago screws.

Choose Your Experience:

  • Basic Class ($75): Includes all premium materials and use of shop tools to walk away with your finished belt.
  • Pro Starter Bundle ($150): Includes the full class experience plus your very own basic leatherworking tool set to continue your craft at home.

Caleb Lawson (he/him) is the craftsman behind Saddlesnake Leather, a leather goods brand specializing in BDSM gear and kinkwear inspired by western tack and saddlery. He’s also a sales specialist, class instructor, and willing accomplice at Tandy Leather in Grand Rapids. His other experience as a craftsman include bookbinding, plush-making, machine and hand embroidery, sewing, cinch weaving, and pattern drafting. He’s also a graphic designer, singer-songwriter, husband, and loving dog dad.
