Introduction to Ensemble Playing: Jazz Beginners 2
Would you like to learn how to play jazz with other musicians? Then this is the workshop for you!
This workshop is designed for complete jazz novices – no prior knowledge of jazz necessary! We will cover the fundamental building blocks of style, improvisation, interaction, rhythm and harmony in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, spanning a range of repertoire and introducing you to the joys of improvising with other musicians.
Kat Browning has earned degrees at the Royal Northern College of Music as well as Leeds College of Music, she is a familiar face in the Manchester jazz scene, playing regular gigs and jams at Matt and Phreds, The Thirsty Scholar, among others. She is currently leading the tenors in the Infinity Jazz Orchestra, having preciously worked with. Kat Browning is a single reeds player (clarinet, bass clarinet, alto and baritone saxophones), and the 2015 Award winner for bass clarinet at the Sickle Foundation of North Wales.
