Introduction to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Kate Knapp, LMHC, will facilitate this session.  Kate has ten (10) years of practice working with individual and group modalities, and seven (7) years running DBT groups. 
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) offers practical skills and clear ways to understand and explain managing emotions and their implications within relationships.  With DBT, the client learns ways to manage emotions and gain confidence in the way they relate to themselves and others.
Participants in this class will be exposed to the four modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and will have the opportunity to participate in an exercise from each of the modules.  Participants will gain a general idea of DBT, aiding in decisions to be further trained. 
This session is offered as part of the Tree of Hope Counseling, PLLC services.
Tree of Hope Counseling, LCSW, PLLC, SE CPE, is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0322.
This course is 2 (two) contact hours.
Fee for course is $50.00
Registration available until 5:00pm Wednesday, 10/18/17.
