Back by popular demand! We are so happy to be hosting this all day, deep dive into coffee roasting.

Join us at the Buckman Coffee Factory for a hands-on, practical experience to explore the fundamentals of coffee roasting. In this beginners course, participants will dip their toes into quality assurance protocols, green coffee procurement, coffee roaster function, and roast profile development.

Whether your goal is to take your love for coffee to the next level as a hobbyist or to explore the world of roasting as an aspiring professional, you will leave the day with a great foundation in the basics of roasting.

Instructor Mike Nelson has worked in the coffee industry as a barista, consultant, roaster, trainer, and company co-owner with various specialty coffee companies in the US and abroad. He combined his love of scientific research and coffee by focusing his graduate research on climate change and coffee, and holds an MSc in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science and an MSc in Geography.
