Four sessions from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at Docs In Progress

10/28, 10/29, 11/4, 11/5

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Understaning the editor’s role in weaving together images, words, and sound into a unified and compelling narrative is vital for every filmmaker.

This course is designed for creative storytellers who are just starting out, with little to no prior editing experience. Across four hands-on sessions, you’ll learn the essentials of editing: How to confidently navigate the editing interface, import and organize your media, and set up an efficient workflow. You’ll get comfortable with the tools for trimming, arranging, and moving clips, as well as adding still images, smooth transitions, titles, and simple effects to bring your story to life.

We’ll also explore working with titles and graphics, and guide you through exporting and sharing your finished projects. To ensure you can put every lesson into practice, you’ll have access to sample footage, giving you the chance to experiment and practise.

Docs in Progress provides the workstations and the software in our education lab.
