About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

I want to create a supportive and creative space where writers of all experience levels can hone their Science Fiction and Fantasy (SFF) writing skills and learn about the power of SFF! The limitless worlds of SFF stories offer a unique opportunity for writers to explore complex real-world issues from a fresh perspective, a power championed by the likes of Ursula K. Le Guin, Octavia Butler, and N.K. Jemisin. SFF has the incredible power to answer the question, "What if?", give a voice to the voiceless, and battle intangible foes like time and death. In this program, you will learn how to build a world from scratch, do writing exercises, present your writing to the group, and- hopefully- leave inspired to write more. Bring a laptop or pen and paper!

$10/person

No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. If $10 is not an accessible option for you, please send us an email at hello@prototypepgh.org to RSVP for this workshop. You will not be asked to explain your financial situation.
