INTRO TO PORTRAIT LIGHTING & MODIFIERS
For photographers new to using studio light! You'll learn how light works, how to shape light, and new tools to improve your photography!
Who this is for:
This workshop is for *DIGITAL Photographers who primarily shoot portraits in natural light settings who have little to no experience with using additional light to create a portrait. If you want to work in a studio, create more dramatic and intentional portraits, this is the workshop for YOU!

What will be covered:
This workshop will begin with a ~60 min. introduction/presentation of the topics below, then we will begin the hands on portion in studio with individuals getting to practice what they've learned and get answers to questions in real time! Tickets are limited to 10 people so everyone gets enough hands on shoot time! So get a spot before it sells out!

- Basic exposure settings/Manual Mode
- How to operate on camera & external flash unit
- Strobe vs Constant Light /Pros & Cons
- Light Modifiers & how they control light
- How Light behaves at distance
- How to light a subject and backdrop
- Creating or eliminating Mood in a portrait
What you'll need to bring:
Your own camera with working hot shoe!
SD card with enough memory
A desire to learn!
The Workshop Instructor:
Ray Fernandez is a professional videographer/photographer and small business owner based in Sacramento CA. His primary work lies in traveling event videography, analog film photography and operating Underground Creative Studio in Old Sacramento. His body of work spans a number of disciplines such as Live Events/Concerts, Podcasts, Content for small businesses, Artists and more. Recent and recurring clients include David Garibaldi, Full Violence, and over 20 local family owned businesses. His artistic passion for film photography, however, has lead to many opportunities to develop community relationships including the development of Cameras and Coffee with founder Joey Valenzuela.
