Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy is a modern calligraphy studio based in Austin, Texas. Jesilyn is a midwest gal and attended South Dakota State University, graduating in 2011. She is coming to Brookings for a vist and jumped at the opportunity to teach her craft in her favorite town in South Dakota. Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy

Have you ever wanted to learn pointed pen calligraphy to send out your own stationery cards, wedding invitations, or create keepsake prints for your home? Like most artistic crafts, its hard to know where to start or what to buy. This beginner's workshop will teach you everything you need to get started practicing calligraphy. We will go over materials needed (nibs, ink types, paper, pen holders, etc.) technique (how to hold the pen, pen pressure, dipping the pen in the ink) basic layouts, and different tricks to make you more successful. By the end of the workshop, you will have all the tools, worksheets, and instructions necessary to begin practicing your own beautiful calligraphy.
What you'll receive from the class:
