About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

What is soldering? In this case, we will be using silver solder to connect our jewelry; it can be finicky but is also a ton of fun! Students will learn to use a jeweler's saw, files, and sandpaper to prep their metal rings. Then, we solder!

Students will have the option of copper or sterling silver wire for their rings, and may add texture to the metal should they choose. We will also create a ring from sheet metal if we have time. If you want to know more, join us!

Please wear natural fibers, close-toed shoes, full length pants, and have any long hair pulled back. If you would like to bring your own safety glasses you may; otherwise, we will have extras here.

*Age 16+ (under 18 MUST be accompanied by a guardian)

Linore graduated with a BFA in Metalsmithing and Ceramics in 2018 and has since spent time as the Head of Metals and Glass at Camp Matoaka in Maine, Metals Studio Assistant at Arrowmont, the Program Manager and then Director at The Inventor Center, and a ceramics and jewelry teacher for kids and adults in the Tri-Cities area.

She loves to see her students grow more comfortable and confident throughout the class(es), and does everything she can to facilitate that! Questions are always welcome, feedback encouraged, and she loves to learn from her students' inquisitive minds and ideas!
