Welcome to the Intro to LPVO and Intermediate Distance Workshop!

Event Details:

Date: October 20, 2024

Time: 10 am - 2 pm (arrive early for waivers, paperwork and setup- extra time at end may be allowed also for additional shooting)

Location: Illinois State Rifle Association

THIS CLASS IS LIMITED TO 10 TICKETS AND TAKES PLACE AT THE 100 METER LANE.

Expect to shoot from the prone position unless you have a physical limitation.

Join us for an afternoon of learning about LPVO (Low Power Variable Optics) application, use, and honing your skills at intermediate distances. Whether you're new to an LPVO, haven't pushed yours past 25-50 yards, or looking to improve your shooting at longer ranges, this event will help you gain the knowledge and skills to maximize the effectiveness and speed of your LPVO/MPVO.

This is a high information content, low physical exertion class. You will shoot from a firing position and will not be "running and gunning" for this class.

The material we will cover:

  • BDC vs MIL/MOA reticles for holds at distance
  • FFP (First Focal Plane) vs SFP (Second Focal Plane) vs DFP (Dual Focal Plane)
  • Proper mounting and on-range adjustments
  • Zeroing
  • Versatility of an LPVO and rapid target transitions

ROUND COUNT - 150 ROUNDS of your preferred caliber and same bullet weight, a bipod or shooting block rest (sandbags provided), a low power variable optic (1-6x, 1-8x, 2-10x, etc.), close-toed shoes, hearing protection, eye protection, gloves if desired, hat if desired, shooting pad if desired (Steve uses a yoga mat), knee or elbow pads if desired.

If using an AR-15 style rifle, you may want to consider bringing your state compliant 10-round magazines. A magazine longer than your pistol grip may interfere with shooting from the prone position.

LPVO/MPVO's are not negotiable. If you show up with your Kahles 525i, you will be given a high five and turned away. Though you may be a person with exceptional taste, you are in the wrong class. NO fixed power optics. NO high power optics without prior approval.

If you are trying to acquire knowledge before making an informed decision about purchasing an LPVO, excellent choice! We can provide you with a loaner rifle, if needed. If you opt for a loaner rifle, you will be expected to purchase match-grade ammo and bring it to class.

Contact steve@titan-tactical.com for rifle reservation or with any comments or concerns.
