Launch Academy

Are you curious about learning to program? Have you tried online tutorials and gotten stuck? Join Launch Academy Boston for a free and fun night of hands on learning. Together, we’ll dive into the JavaScript programming language. Along the way, we'll study the fundamentals of programming that can be applied to most modern programming languages. It will be a night chock full of code, food, and laughs!
We believe that the journey of learning to code can be fun, and that it is infinitely easier when you have a plan and travel companions! We know you can do it, and we want to help you discover the joys of programming. This is a zero prerequisite program, and we’ll start at the very beginning. So, there’s truly nothing stopping you from Launching your learn to code mission! Join us. 
Learning Outcomes
- Build basic, interactive JavaScript programs that incorporate input, output, flow control, loops, and functions.
- Incorporate arrays into your JavaScript programs
- Manipulate the Document Object Model (DOM) with the jQuery library
- Reference documentation and online communities to help you get “unstuck"
- Analyze error messages to diagnose and resolve problems in your programs
 
Prerequisites
- Bring your laptop and a power cable!
- It’s important you have the ability to install and run new programs on your laptop, so be sure you have admin access to your machine.
- A basic understanding of HTML would be helpful, but it is not required.
