Intro to Inkscape w/ Alex

Thanks for your interest in Intro to Inkscape! This free 60-minute workshop is perfect for anyone looking to design their own projects for laser cutters, CNC machines, or Cricut. Inkscape is a free graphic design software that thinks in vectors - essentially lines drawn with math - to create complex and intricate designs. Learning Inkscape allows you to create your own projects or tweak existing projects for your needs. The greatest part of Inkscape? It's 100% free - just download and go!

During the Intro to Inkscape workshop, you'll learn the basics of vector design. You’ll get hands-on experience creating simple designs compatible with the lasers, CNC, or Cricut using shapes, text, and basic images. Once you've made your design, you'll learn how to export it in ways compatible with our software in-house to "plug and play" with the machine of your choice. From there, the world is your oyster - make to your heart's content!

***Please note that as this is a software-based class, you'll need to bring your own computer or tablet. It helps to have Inkscape downloaded ahead of time - you can do so at Inkscape's website. Once you've downloaded it onto the device of your choice, you're all set to bring it to class.
