About this event

Students will learn how to heat, proportion, and combine ingredients to create an organic balm/salve. This class is also good for those who want to learn the basics of homemade skincare. We will use natural waxes, butter, grass-fed beef tallow, carrier oils, and essential oils. Students will leave with a personalized, organic salve.

Brittany Walker grew up in Virginia, and at an early age, she began making balms and candles. She was interested in pairing her passion for the outdoors with her interest in exploring all creative mediums. She joined the Utah and Washington Conservation Corps (2016-‘19) and was introduced to foraging, plant ID, and ethnobotany. Brittany was drawn to the local and natural ingredients in tinctures and traditional salves and their functional and healing uses. Personally, foraging and farming her ingredients has anchored her infusions and experiments ever since. She enjoys teaching about local plants and their uses in plant medicines to all ages. She weaves her knowledge into her teaching at her Grateful Gathering Forest School outdoor program. She began Walkers Wild Goods in 2018.
