With Jesse Soldat, front end engineer
Firebase can serve as your entire backend service, not only persisting your data, but synchronizing it instantly between millions of connected clients. Utilizing only the Firebase JavaScript SDK and AngularFire, combined with its <A HREF="https://firebase.google.com/docs/database/security/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">flexible Security Rules</A>, you can have complete control of your data without any server-side hardware or code. Firebase provides an <A HREF="https://firebase.google.com/docs/auth/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">authentication and user management service</A> which interfaces with OAuth service providers like Facebook and Twitter, as well as anonymous and email / password authentication tools. You can even integrate with an existing authentication service using Firebase custom authentication. Every Firebase app comes with <A HREF="https://firebase.google.com/docs/hosting/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">free hosting</A> served over a secure SSL connection and backed by a global CDN. You can deploy your static HTML, JavaScript, and CSS files to the web in seconds.

With over 80% market share in the mobile application industry, Android is by far the leading mobile operating system. As such the entire android ecosystem has been going through substantial improvements for the past couple of years. The whole android industry, Google as its core, is contributing now more than ever, to building up a mature eco system running on billions of devices. Nowadays, the question the mobile developer community is striving to answer isn’t “How can I make this app?” but rather “How can I make it better?” One of the main challenges, we, developers have come to face is the rapid growth and evolution of Android development. As a matter of fact, one can easily lose track of what’s been done, what’s being done and what will be done in order to build better apps. During this talk, I will walk you through the latest evolutions of the android development process. More specifically, we will try to understand together how to shift from verbose and inefficient source code to a fast, reliable and professional way of coding.
