In this class you’ll learn the basic skills that translate to every facet of the craft, from forging Knightly Broadswords to stunning wrought iron gates. We will be making Coathooks!

Note: All participants must adhere to the Class Contract.

The non-member price includes one month of membership at Manchester Makerspace, this can be activated on the class day.

Frequently asked questions

Will all tools and materials be provided?

Yes! No additional tools must be purchased, students are welcome to bring their own hammer,tongs, and appropriate safety equipment.

Where can I park?

There is parking at the side of the building, and metered street parking on Old Granite street.

Who is the target audience?

Any adult (18+) with an interest in blacksmithing. No previous experience required, but a basic understanding of safe operation of the equipment is recommended.

What is appropriate clothing to wear for the blacksmithing class?

Natural fiber clothing and closed-toe leather footwear.
