Introduction to Ballroom & Latin Dancing

BEGINNING GROUP CLASS – 6 Weeks

THURSDAYS at 7pm – starting, THURSDAY, APRIL 11th, 2024

$89 per Person for 6 Weeks (1 person)

$178 per Couple for 6 Weeks (couple)

---------

We will be covering technique, basic steps, etiquette and everything one needs to know to start dancing. NO PARTNER NEEDED, as we always rotate students while dancing. This class is great for singles and couples who are just starting or have no prior dance experiance. We will be going over 2-3 different styles of Ballroom/Latin dances which are good for beginning level dancer (Waltz, Swing, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue).

Shoes/Clothing - clothing should comfortable and suitable for dancing/moving; please bring a change of clean shoes; if you don't have dance shoes yet, dress shoes are best; tennis shoes are worst (they stick to the dance floor and prevent your feet from pivoting/turning).

Please Do Not Drink Alcohol prior to the class as it interferes with remembering patterns and slows down mind/body coordination and functionality!

Opened in 1976 by Bart Ferko, the Dance Scene studio tucked behind the Shopper’s Mall at 10 Mile and Van Dyke has been providing a place for Center Line Area people to express themselves through dance for over 40 years.

Anna Sobiechart is now the Owner of The Dance Scene. She was Bart’s fellow teacher for 27 years and is an accomplished dancer from Poland. Anna is an excellent instructor who loves to teach all skill levels.

The studio hosts private dance lessons every week, plus group lessons and several parties and events. Private lessons, group lessons, and dance parties are open to the public. All ages are welcome.

The Dance Scene’s mission is to enrich lives by building confidence, encouraging wellness and providing opportunities for connection through dance.
