If you're ready to take the leap from car camping and day hikes to overnight backpacking, this workshop is for you!

<p>Outdoor Chattanooga’s Director and avid outdoorsman, Philip Grymes will cover everything from essential gear to pack, trip and meal planning to how to go to the bathroom in the woods. We’ll also provide a printable checklist so you don’t forget any essentials on your first trek out. Backpacking allows you to broaden your horizons beyond the car campground to enjoy a richer, more immersive outdoor experience. Workshop attendees will be entered into a random drawing to win a Map &amp; Compass Navigation Course with our friends at REI Chattanooga. </p><p>Join Outdoor Chattanooga for a series of virtual workshops covering a variety of outdoor topics this winter. These live, interactive workshops will occur bi-weekly on Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00 PM, January 12 through March 23 online. Topics include hiking, fishing, camp cooking, backpacking, wilderness survival, and bike maintenance. These virtual workshops are free and open to all ages. No experience required to attend.</p>
