Friends Who Are Going
Event description

This course is designed to develop actors with any length of experience. This program will help actors better understand their own instrument (themselves) and embrace their uniqueness. We work on getting actors to behave truthfully within imaginary circumstances and become trusting of their own instincts. Students will learn how to carefully examine a script and then emotionally prepare for scenes and improvs in order to bring their own to truth to their work. 18 and up

When: Wednesdays, 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 11/7, 11/14 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.

Where: Inspire Studio on the 4th floor.

Cost: $150 for 6 sessions

What to Expect: This is a great way for people who have no knowledge of the actor's process to see what it's all about. It's also very helpful for actors who have experience to develop a technique that works for them. Every actor is different therefore the curriculum is fluid and tailored to each individual in the class to breakthrough their own personal blocks and explore their own instrument. Some people may find this improves their acting skills, while others find it useful to connect more with themselves and others in their day to day life.

PLATFORM is an acting studio and film & theatre production company based in Boise, Idaho. PLATFORM was founded in 2015 by April Matson. April Matson is an actress best known for her role as Lori Trager in the ABC Family cable television network (now knowns as Freeform) series. Prior to that she played Penny Chase on the Fox network television series, Quintuplets, alongside Andy Richter. She has also appeared as a guest star in various television shows and has appeared in several short and feature independent films. Since 2015, April has been helping local Boise actors develop and practice their craft with feverish dedication to the growth of every one of her students.

What inspires you?

I'm inspired by people who bravely step outside of their comfort zones to learn something new about themselves and others. I'm inspired by people willing to be honest with themselves, embrace their uniqueness and make positive changes in their own lives and their community. I'm inspired, not just by creativity alone, but by creativity together with the tenacity and work ethic to do the necessary steps to bring an idea through the process to become an actual work of art.
