<p>Technology is a tool that has been leveraged for human activity since the beginning of its inception. Internet in particular enabled new types of activities, new ways for people to socialize, communicate and interact and made a society more interconnected and global as never before. Over time, the incentives on the Internet shifted power towards large corporations who use data moats and act in their own interests, not interests of global communities. Internet started by having open protocols, and the way forward is to bring these old ideas (open protocols), but combining them with powerful new technologies and incentive structures to enable open web. Open web will be beneficial to developers, entrepreneurs, creators and users. Open web stack will consist of underlying technology providers (e.g. NEAR, IPFS), set of programming tools (e.g. WASM, Rust, TypeScript), set of protocols (e.g. MakerDAO, Open Social), applications and end-user interfaces (e.g. Brave Browser, Wallets).</p>
