For 50 years, through three generations, The Vanaver Caravan Dance and Music Company has been an integral and beloved part of the Hudson Valley community: promoting peace, celebrating our shared humanity, and transforming young lives through the magic of music and dance.

Saturday December 10th at the Rosendale Theatre. This 75 minute performance will be presented at  2:00 pm  &amp; 4:00 pm*  </p><p>Snow date: December 11th, 10:00am  &amp; 12pm</p><p>*The 4pm performance will also be live streamed (No ticket purchase necessary — Donations welcome). Livestream link will be made available on Dec 10</p><h3>ROSENDALE THEATRE &amp; VANAVER CARAVAN C﻿OVID-19 PROTOCOLS</h3><ul><li>Although NYS vaccination policy has been relaxed, please consider the welfare of other patrons.</li><li>Masks are no longer required but for the safety of our staff and volunteers, they are highly recommended.</li><li>Please do not attend if feeling unwell or if you (or anyone in your pod) has been exposed to someone presumed or confirmed to have a positive case</li></ul><h3>LOCATION</h3><p>Rosendale Theatre, 408 Main St, Rosendale, NY 12472</p><h3>ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE:</h3><p><em>It&#x27;s not often that a holiday show can rival the splendor and enchantment of &quot;The Nutcracker.&quot; But … The Vanaver Caravan and Arm-of-the-Sea Theater [have produced] a fanciful, multicultural dance, music, and theater spectacular that has become a Hudson Valley holiday tradition with a staying power all its own.</em></p><p>           — Chronogram Magazine</p><p>This family friendly children&#x27;s performance wraps up all the magic of Arm of the Sea Theater&#x27;s giant puppets into the celebratory vision of The Vanaver Caravan&#x27;s world dance repertoire. <em>Into the Light</em> raises our spirits and awareness for cultural traditions, using the winter holiday season as common ground. </p><p><em>Into the Light</em> first premiered in 2005, and has since become a beacon of holiday hope and cheer in the Hudson Valley. Conceived by Patrick Wadden, Livia Vanaver, Miranda Way (nee: ten Broeke) and Isabel Cottingham, the fairytale-like story follows a young girl as she struggles to find joy and hope in a winter with no sunlight. </p><p>As she grows up, Lucia leaves her sunny village and journeys into the cold, haunted forests of the winter star. In her darkest moment, she is helped by a kind old Bear, who guides Lucia around the world--to see how people, everywhere, keep the light of hope alive in the cold months of winter. </p><p> The performance celebrates many of the world’s traditions for bringing light, joy and beauty into the darkest part of the year.
