INT'L CAFE is a langauge cafe/intercambio style casual multilingual hangout. You can make some new friends in a language that you are learning or already know. It's a great way to meet other internationally minded people in your community.
There will be a table for each language requested. Feel free to move around to different tables if you speak multiple languages. We will have table signs ready for Amharic, Arabic, ASL, Chinese/Mandarin, Cree, English, French, German, Greek, Haitian Creole, Hebrew, Inuktitut, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. We can always make a table for your language upon request.
Please stick to speaking the language of the table. For example, avoid having a lengthy conversation in English at the Spanish table. Of course, it is always okay to clarify things in English, but in the spirit of the event, try to avoid speaking it as much as possible unless you are at the English table.
If you don't speak any languages other than English, come help others improve their skills. The English table is a great place to meet people from all over the world and is often has a huge turnout. It is a great place for language learners to head to after they have practices all they know at other language tables too.
This is a casual, social event held in a boisterous brewery. You will have the opportunity to practice speaking other languages and meet people from all different cultures and backgrounds, but if you are looking for a quiet, intimate conversational group, you may want to look elsewhere.
