Interwoven: Family Twilight Trek

Interwoven: Family Twilight Trek presents the opportunity for Special Operations Forces families to slow down and view their surroundings with curiosity and wonder. Join The Station Foundation as we venture to the beautiful Norfolk Botanical Garden for this evening program.

The Station will discuss the mindfulness attitude of A Beginner's Mind. Adopting this attitude enables one to recapture the sense of excitement, curiosity and childlike wonder of trying or learning something new. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of how to approach the most routine activities with a fresh perspective. To introduce this concept, children (ages 4+) will decorate a pair of binoculars, equipping them with a tool to view their surroundings through a new lens. They will then dissect an owl pellet, bringing awareness to what is noticed when we slow down and become curious. Families will also enjoy a 40 minute guided tour through the Norfolk Botanical Garden at dusk. Join The Station for an evening of connection, curiosity, and appreciation of the beauty of nature.

5 :45-6:00 PM Arrival, Welcome, and Grounding Practice

6 :00-6:45 PM Picnic Dinner

7 :00-7:45 PM Decorate Binoculars and Owl Pellet Dissection

7 :45-8:25 PM Guided Tour of Botanical Gardens

8:25-8:30 PM Depart

When registering for an event, all required fields on the order form must be completed in its entirety. Incomplete order forms will be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding and helping us ensure event security and the highest quality experience possible.

All ages are welcome; please note, the binocular and owl pellet dissection activities are appropriate for ages 4+. When registering, please reserve ONE ticket for the family. We kindly request a cancellation notice no less than 72 hours prior to the event. Thank you for your consideration.
