Master the Art of Interviewing for Documentary!

Thursday, 15 February, 2024 | 6:30PM-9:00PM (In person)ABOUT THE WORKSHOPThis workshop is designed for filmmakers of all levels who want to take their interviewing skills to the next level. Participants will gain key insights and techniques for conducting effective interviews, including how to prepare for the interview, ask relevant questions, and elicit compelling stories from interviewees and the importance of sound. Ultimately, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to capture the essence of their subjects, which will make their own documentaries more engaging and impactful.TEACHING ARTIST: Jenny MontasirJenny Montasir is a filmmaker and educator in media arts. She has over 10 years of experience working as a video journalist and documentary filmmaker. For four years she was based in Egypt covering women's rights and social justice issues. Her work has been featured on the BBC, The New York Times, MSNBC, AJ+, TIME among others. Previously, Montasir was an adjunct lecturer teaching Multimedia Storytelling at Northwestern University.LOCATION: Docs In Progress8560 2nd Ave Suite 113, Silver Spring, MD 20910Docs In Progress is located on the ground level of the Alexander House.
