Find your people, Find your practice. We are a place where community and contemplation meet. No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region, and online through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. If you are opposed to sharing your lovely face, let us know and we'll do our best to avoid that. But, by using an event ticket you agree to let The Hive share your image in photo, audio, and video form. For Zoom classes we occassionally announce if we elecet to record- please let your host or faciliator know if you do not want to be recorded.)

We wake up every morning at the intersection of art and life. For some, our attention to the interior life bears fruit as beauty and action in the world. For others, the skilled, focused presence toward our artwork awakens an inner clarity and sense of "home." That unmistakable alchemy of acting in the world with integrity is born from such intersections. Drawing elements such as negative space, balance, or movement are worth exploring in life as much as in artwork.
Join an 8-week small group collaboration between <A HREF="http://www.cincyhive.org" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Hive: A Center for Contemplation, Art, and Action</A> and <A HREF="http://www.manifestgallery.org/studio/intersections/index.html" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Manifest Drawing Center</A>. Each week will include drawing studio guidance as well as guided meditation springing from 7 principles of design. Classes are 2.5 hours and alternate between Manifest Drawing Center in Madisonville, and The Hive in Northside, beginning at The  Hive.  Each class will be co-facilitated by Brigid O'Kane and Troy Bronsink, who will bring their expertise and beginners-mind to bear in both domains of art and contemplation.The class is open to those from all levels of drawing or meditation experience who are willing to participate as part of the group for all 8 weeks of guided direction, while also sharing their personal integrative consideration to both life and art.  This advanced Hive course integrates art and contemplation.
Troy Bronsink is Founder/Director of the Hive. Troy is a spiritual director, published author, organizer, entrepreneur, ordained minister, singer songwriter, mixologist, and consultant. He has presented at SXSW, TEDx, Creative Mornings, as well as at universities and events around the US exploring the intersections of design thinking, leadership, and contemplation. He and his family live in Northside.
Brigid O’Kane holds three degrees in Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Fine Art.  In 2004, she co-founded Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center, a non-profit organization here in Cincinnati. Manifest is dedicated to creating, exploring, presenting, and documenting visual art and design from around the world.  Brigid is currently a Professor of Design at the University of Cincinnati (UC).   She is internationally know for her award-winning presentations and has a well established reputation as a writer, lecturer, and planetary futurist.  
This eight week course runs from September 11th through October 30th.
