ABC works across Maryland as educator, advocate and supporter to eliminate race-based structural barriers and advance long-term solutions that create new opportunities for African Americans to thrive financially and build a stronger economy for all.ABC works to dismantle systemic, race-based barriers and expand economic opportunities for African Americans and other people of color in Maryland. ABC is a leading force in the region for racial equity and inclusion, highlighting long-standing structural issues that impede people of color and engaging employers, elected officials and the public in implementing lasting solutions to address them.ABC focuses on providing services and support to advance economic equity for African Americans in the workplace today, maintaining a transformational vision for ending longstanding structural racism and building an economy that is fair and open to all.

Associated Black Charities

Community of Practice for Baltimore workforce development practitioners to develop their racial equity lens in our field.

Providing services to any community requires a deep and extensive understanding of the community itself. The system of white supremacy has produced societal distortions that have impacted the nature of how services are provided to Black people. This session will examine these distortions and will provide some tools for effective program design for community based programming.
