About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Your ancestors wrote in cursive which, hopefully, you learned in school but you are still having a problem reading the records your ancestors left. What caused these problems? May's speaker is Margo Fariss Brewer. She will discuss how and why your ancestors' writing resources, different alphabets, abbreviations, punctuation, and symbols inadvertently create or add to your confusion.

We are currently meeting via the ZOOM web conference platform on the second Wednesday of each month. Visitors are welcome to join as early as 7:00 PM (Eastern) for some informal social time. A brief business meeting begins at 7:30 pm, followed by the presentation for the evening. Meetings feature speakers and programs related to family history and genealogy research. The meetings generally are one hour long and most have an open Q&A session for the speaker afterwards.

Meetings are recorded and replays available to members only on the Olde Meck website.

You will receive the Zoom link for the meeting in your confirmation email.
