Would you like more ways to bring your meditative peace and insights "off the cushion" and into the rest of your life? Are you inspired to use social interactions as rich practice grounds for self-growth?
Explore, deepen, and expand your meditation practice while bringing greater awareness to your social habits in a supportive group setting. We will exercise our capacity for maintaining presence and self-connection and develop new skills to connect with ourselves—especially our hearts—while relating.
The evening will include guided individual, partner, and group meditations and exercises.
We will explore what it is like to listen and speak from deep presence and investigate the balance between self-compassion and compassion for others. This class will incorporate concepts from Nonviolent Communication to help us relate to our world with more inner-authority, curiosity, and heart-connection. Some themes include boundaries, saying and hearing "no", making requests, and slowing down.
You will come away with somatic techniques to help you find deeper self-connection in everyday interactions and tools for creating more connection with others.
Tickets are $20, paid online or at the door with cash, paypal, or venmo. If cost is a barrier, please contact Pauline for work-trade options. Tickets are not refundable but please contact Pauline to transfer to another date or another person.
We will be sitting in chairs, couches, or standing for the partner/group exercises, but feel free to bring your own cushion or meditation seat for individual meditations. We have a zafu, meditation bench, pillows, and a couple of backjacks.
The Hive Marin is unfortunately not ADA accessible (flight of stairs to the entrance) but is accessible once you are upstairs.
