About the Organizer
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s San Fernando Valley Alumnae Chapter has been servicing the communities of San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Burbank for 45 years. The chapter was chartered on May 20, 1978. On that day, 21 pioneering charter members answered the challenge of combining resources to provide much needed services to the community. Our early social activities included the annual Jabberwock presentation and the Spring ‘Afternoon Delight’ affair which raised funds for scholarships. Since then, we’ve added such programs as Voter Registration drives to help boost voter education and registration, Baby Showers at the local Women’s Shelters to help provide essential items for expecting mothers in need, Night of Jazz, and Our Promise both to raise funding for the diverse programs to support our service area.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.
