Calling all I-House Alumni!

Has it been a while since you've been back to I-House? Gather your friends and family and join other I-House Alumni for Sunday brunch in the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Dining Commons! Together we'll share memories, catch up, and celebrate the global community created at I-House.

Brunch is served from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. (you're welcome to join at any point during those times), and the cost for brunch is $20/person.

At 11:30 a.m., I-House Executive Director Shaun Carver will welcome attendees, share an I-House update, and answer any questions you may have.

We will be offering tours throughout the day so you can see how I-House has changed and evolved over time. Tours are scheduled at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

And, for those who want to keep the conversation going after brunch, you can try the coffee, wine and beer offerings at Edmonds' Café (formerly the I-House Café) which will stay open until 4 p.m.

Frequently asked questions

Who is invited to the event?

Anyone who has ever lived at International House at UC Berkeley is invited, along with current and previous board and staff members. Friends and families of I-House alumni are also welcome, but please be aware that each attendee will need to purchase a ticket to join the brunch.

What will the brunch menu be like?

The brunch menu will likely include fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, steel cut oatmeal, eggs, meats and potatoes and feature a pastries bar, jook bar, omelet station, and a breakfast brunch special.

What food options will be available?

We have vegan and vegetarian options and all of our chicken items are halal. We do have gluten-free options, but since we are not a gluten-free facility, we cannot eliminate the risk of cross-contamination.

Where can I park?

Hourly parking is available in all campus parking areas unless otherwise indicated. Options include: • Boalt Law School Lot (behind the building opposite I-House) • Underhill Lot (at Channing Way & College Ave) • Kroeber Lot (on Bancroft near College Ave) Public street parking is also an option.

Is the event wheelchair accessible?

Yes. I-House is accessible via an ADA-compliant exterior ramp and elevators. The two public restrooms on the first floor are also accessible.

Is masking required for the event?

As California’s COVID-19 State of Emergency is over, masking will not be required for the event.

What is your refund policy?

If for some reason you won’t be able to join us, please let us know by Friday, August 4th so that we can issue a refund. We will not be able to issue refunds after that date.
