Take your wheel throwing skills further in this 4-week intermediate pottery series focused on creating more complex forms and developing your personal style. Students should already feel comfortable centering clay and throwing basic cylinders and bowls.
Throughout the four weeks we’ll explore forms that require thoughtful construction, precision, and creativity. Demonstrations and guided practice will help you refine technique while experimenting with surface design.
Projects may include:
• Goblets
• Bird Feeders
• Pie Plates
• Berry Bowls
We’ll also experiment with surface decoration techniques, including:
• Underglaze application
• Carving and texture
Each class begins with a short demonstration followed by work time and individual guidance. By the end of the series, students will have a collection of finished pieces that showcase both technical skill and personal expression.
This class is best suited for students who:
• Can center and pull walls consistently
• Have taken a beginner wheel class or equivalent
• Are ready to explore more advanced forms and decoration
Come ready to experiment, refine your skills, and push your pottery in new directions.
