Intermediate tango classes with Elly Fernandez in Berkeley (three dates)

Elly Fernandez teaches tango in Berkeley, Wednesdays, Oct. 15th, 22nd, and 29th! Elly is a full-time, touring tango teacher who brings to the class her love of community-building and creativity in the dance. Join us for the beginner class, intermediate class, or both! These classes are taught using the terms “leaders” and “followers,” and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.
No partner necessary. The teacher encourages students to switch partners throughout the class.
6:45-7:00 pm: check-in
7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango
8:00-8:30 pm practica (intermediates may arrive at 8:00 to practice)
8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango
9:30-10:00 pm practica
The practicas are included with the classes. Stay, dance, and ask questions!
$65.87 general admission (three classes)
$49.87 student with ID (three classes)
In order to join the intermediate class, we recommend that you have been dancing tango regularly for three months (12 dance classes). Intermediates are also welcome to sign up for the beginner class.

Oct 15th & 22nd classes are technical foundations for tango movements. Come to these two weeks if your focus is on learning how to make the building blocks of movement and express a musical variety. Oct 29th classes are playful team-based challenges in the line of dance. Come to this week for the fun, the camaraderie, and to challenge your navigation skills!
OCTOBER 15
Beginner class: multiple entrances in the parallel system cross
Intermediate class will focus on a variety of musical expressions with these movements.
OCTOBER 22
Beginner class: multiple exits from the parallel system cross
Intermediate class will focus on a variety of musical expressions with these movements.
OCTOBER 29
Beginner class: Tango Games - introductory challenge
(great for beginners, fun for all!)
Intermediate class: Tango Games - more challenging
(required: general understanding and competency dancing common movements such as turns, crosses, parallel and cross system, ochos)
