Workshop Details

Once you’re comfortable with the basics of programming in Python, you will start to wonder what you should learn next. This three-day workshop teaches a curated menu of must-know skills and our favorite tips and tricks. On day one, we’ll cover working with data shaped in rows and columns with the pandas package, as well as techniques for troubleshooting your code. Day two brings the fundamentals of data visualization with matplotlib. In the afternoon, we’ll step out of the notebooks and learn how to run, write, and import our own Python scripts. Day three starts with a lesson on environments, followed by a lesson on the best Python shortcut of all, the skill that separates Python beginners from true Pythonistas (yes, that’s what we’re called): List Comprehensions. In between these hands-on tutorials, we’ll have time for even more Python vibing and learning.

Prerequisites: Participants should be familiar with Python at the level of the Python Fundamentals workshop, another introductory Python workshop, or be a self-taught Python coder.
