Overview

Frustrated by your yarns? Keen to improve your hand-spinning skills? Why not join us for a fun, friendly and educational session ?

Intermediate Hand Spinning £85.00

  • If you've mastered the basics and can produce a 'Single' of some description.
  • If you can get the wheel going in the right direction (Most of the time), and
  • If you don't automatically reach for your Colt 45 revolver if someone asks you to "Draw!", then this course is for you.

Led by Cara, an experienced hand-spinner, Mid Essex Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers Member, and qualified adult educator with more than 30-years experience, you will learn some of the techniques and skills necessary for you to:

  • Produce an even yarn, reliably.
  • Produce Singles of a specified Gauge
  • Assess twist required in your Single to ply an even yarn
  • Overcome any other specific barrier that is preventing you from achieving your goal.

The answer is "Yes!", now what was the question?

The Course is run on site at Brick House Farm, set in the beautiful Essex countryside, 7-miles North of Chelmsoford.

Appart from learning new skills and meeting like-minded people, you will also have the opportunity to meet both the resident flock of Gotland sheep and the new Felsted Woollen Mill, which is currently under construction.

Tuition is low-pressure and designed to be fun!

Learning is tailored to your own pace and needs.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions, or would like to know more.
