Intermediate Block Printing Workshop
Go in-depth on linoleum block carving and printing in this 2 day workshop!
This is a TWO SESSION Workshop. Attendees will need to attend BOTH sessions
First session Friday May 22 6pm-8pm.
Second session Friday May 29 6pm-8pm
Carve, ink, and print your way through this two-session deep dive into linoleum block printing. In the first session, you'll learn the full arc of block carving — from composition and design to techniques for creating expressive lines and textures. Then you'll have a full week to work on your block at home, with tools provided to take with you.
In the second session, you'll bring your block to life on paper or fabric, learning the ins and outs of hand printing — including the satisfying hiss and kiss of ink meeting block.
This is a real commitment to the craft, and you'll leave with both the skills and a finished print to show for it.
What's Provided Carving tools will be provided to take home between sessions for at-home work. Bring a block you're already working on or your own tools if you have them — they're welcome here!
What to Wear / Safety Notes Session 1: No special attire required. Session 2: Wear clothes you don't mind getting inky — ink will be involved!
Skill Level: Intermediate. Some prior experience with relief printing, drawing, or carving is helpful.
Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 or older.
Important Note: This is a two-session workshop. Attendance at both sessions is required.

Equitable Access We believe everyone deserves access to hands-on learning opportunities, regardless of income. That's why each workshop includes a limited number of Equitable Access seats.
To help us share these opportunities widely:
- Each participant may claim an Equitable Access seat once per quarter (every three months).
- These spots are first-come, first-served and limited by class size.
- If you've already used an equitable seat this quarter, we ask that you register at full price so others can benefit.
Please only claim these tickets if cost is truly a barrier for you — this helps ensure that those who need the support most can take part.
