Interlocking Harmony brings together the work of Anne Gaffey, Tiffany Bociek, and Katerina Husar Lazarova to Sparks Gallery.
Presented from November 16 through December 27, 2026, the exhibition shows a compelling selection of mixed-media painting, encaustic, layered wood, and acrylic works by Anne Gaffey, Tiffany Bociek, and Katerina Husar Lazarova, three contemporary female artists. While each artist speaks through her own distinctive visual language and material process, their practices are connected by an intuitive sensitivity to surface, texture, movement, and the transformative nature of creation.
The title Interlocking Harmony speaks to a form of connection that does not require sameness. Instead, harmony emerges here through the artist’s differences. Anne Gaffey creates quiet, distilled compositions through repeated processes of applying, obscuring, scraping, and revealing. Tiffany Bociek preserves and partially conceals images within translucent layers of wax––creating dreamlike spaces where memory, loss, joy, and imagination coexist. While Katerina Husar Lazarova allows intuitive drawings to expand beyond the boundaries of the traditional canvas. Her drawings are then transformed into sculptural form by layering wooden substraits. Each configuration is not necessarily about the sculpture itself but how the contours, curves and intuitive shape of the forms interact with light, shadow, and surrounding space.
Rather than presenting three separate bodies of work, Interlocking Harmony considers what happens between them. Shapes echo across the gallery, colors and textures respond to one another, and individual works become part of a larger visual rhythm. The installation encourages viewers to move through the space slowly, discovering relationships that may not be immediately apparent.
The exhibition becomes a metaphor for connection itself. Individuality is not lost in order to create harmony. Instead, each distinct voice contributes something necessary to the whole. Interlocking Harmony invites viewers to look beyond the individual artwork and notice the spaces of connection: between surface and depth, memory and imagination, intuition and intention, object and environment, and ultimately, between one experience to another.
