About this Event

Drag Performance Workshop

Facilitated by Kelindah Schuster

Part of our ARTISTS ACTIVATED series of workshops and events.

Adults, children (ages 8 and up), and caregivers alike are invited to explore the politics of identity, gender, and expression through the playful structure of drag performance. Drawing on BAX’s signature “drag performance” class for ages 10+, participants will briefly learn about drag performance’s rich cultural history and roots in queer performance traditions while discussing and dismantling their own gender archetypes.

This workshop is inclusive of all drag performance forms: Queens, Kings, and in-betweens. Participants of all gender identities are welcome.

All tickets are pay-what-you-can general admission.

Please select the amount that sincerely works best for your family, keeping in mind that these funds go directly to facilitator fees and support BAX’s ongoing investment in such community resources.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Children under 8 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
  • Unaccompanied children (over 8) must be picked up promptly at 7:00 pm.
