Grab your nets! In this class, we will be discussing techniques to collect and preserve insect specimens for scientific and artistic purposes. Students will learn pinning techniques and will be able to go home with one-of-a-kind creations they have made in class.

*Insects used in this class have been collected after they have deceased naturally. We may practice collecting live insects without killing them.

*Best suited for ages 9 and up

Meet your teacher, Harriet!

Harriet is one of the founders of Baltispore. They have a background in agriculture, IPM, and greenhouse growing. Harriet first got into mushrooms when they realized all of the potential medicinal effects they hold. When they’re not growing mushrooms and running markets for BaltiSpore they can be found foraging, skating with their local roller derby league, or gardening.
